As for whether you should buy this radio? Well let's just say that -
like pretty much every Tecsun radio - the PL-660 has Pros and Cons to
consider before you purchase.
Firstly usability of the radio is good.
Medium-Wave Sensitivity is very poor and the noise flaw is dreadful.
FM and SW bands are as good as they get in a portalbe at this price range.
Shortwave reception is further enhanced by a Synchronus Detect circuit
which helps bring in weak and fading signals
Audio through the internal speaker is very average.
Knobs scrape the case.
One can of course work around some of these problems, I put pieces of
felt under the knobs so they don't scrape the case.
I usually listen to this radio through headphones so the tinny audio of
the speaker isn't really a problem for me.
