Hi!

Audio and Hi-Fi is a great hobby of mine in particular retro Hi-Fi.

I have a collection of DAT recorders here, 2 Sony decks and a Sony Walkman
DAT along with a Tascam Professional DAT Recorder.

DAT stands for Digital Audio Tape and was produced by Sony to replace the
Compact Cassette in the mid 80s.

The documentary linked to below tells the story of the DAT format and I'm
posting it here given that many of our list members are interested in audio
and some members may have had the privlidge of owning a DAT recorder
themselves.

I still use DAT myself as I find it an incredibly good medium with which to
record analogue radio broadcasts as part of my DX listening hobby but I'm
