When have the time, I prefer to repair, but when swamped such as I am going through one of those streaks now, knowing it won't last, I want to put out as much as possible asap... Custs don't seem to mind paying little extra, their just happy to get back so quick, plus less time and headache. I saw all the posts re: the Sony G board... but even in that case I would've replaced because i was foreseeing allot of wasted time going towards that board... What ever it takes to not just satisfy the cust, but the Tech has to be satisfied with final outcome... So no one should criticize another on how they get the job done...... I am working without a schematic but the set uses the TA8879N jungle IC. I had a new one in stock so I replaced it without any change (I do have a pinout of this IC). I have video at pin 45 of the IC but nothing on pins 33, 34, or 40. Does anyone have a print they can send or have some tips they might want to share?
