Something you said that just caught my eye "grayscale fades to a slightly greenish gray on the left side."
What do you mean exactly when you say FADES. Do you mean after setting the grey scale or try to the pix is good on right side and off on left or can you visually see it fade to a greenish gray as though its changing. Because the RGB CRTs themselves can't have a purity problem. (unless you have a defective one, can you look directly into the one that seems off, or all 3 for that matter, and see if one of the RGB CRTs looks off) One thing I do know but you have to check manual on how to adjust the angle and/or tilt of the CRTs. Only got involved it doing that once awhile back, but it was more to do with the fine touch up of the convergence, which took care of that problem. Just a thought..... I suppose there are the usual rings to adjust?
