Subject: [Techs] Sanyo DS19630 chassis 19630-00 mfd-1996 relay clicks
onthen
off.

Sanyo DS19630
chassis 19630-00
mfd-1996

Original problem relay clicks on then off. found HOT (D1685) shorted.
Replaced with a new (D1685) that says Sanyo on it even though I didn't
order OEM. Fired with variac at 100v AC, B+ 80vdc and relay still
clicked on then off. HOT ok with variac. Removed regulator (STR30135)
which seems to check ok, B+ went to 139vdc relay still on then off.
Turned variac down to 85v AC, B+ went down to 115vdc relay still on then
off. Sounds to simple, what am I overlooking...???

I Replaced following even if checked good
R601 (3.3 Ohms 5 W) (chk'd ok)
R607 (5.6 Ohms 2 W) (was opened)
R411(2.7 Ohms 2 W) (was opened)
C606 (330uf / 200v) (chk'd ok)
REG-STR30135 (chk'd ok)
HOT-Q402-(ECG2331) (shorted)

Now same thing with Q402-(HOT) getting hot & R601 very hot & starts
smoking. Also need value of R621 (sandbox 5 or 7watt) #'s are burnt off
and boards blackened in that area from running warm for apparently some
length of time.
Any other help appreciated.
No Print. Thanks "joe"
