I've gotten used to my old Sencore. I use the internal voltmeter for DC measurements and at the same time I get a glance at what's really happening. Only a scope allows us to "see" what's actually happening.
I use an old analog meter to rough in for efficiency and then pull out the digital if I need to be exact. Old fashioned but very effective. I'm glad that few people bother to take my troubleshooting advice as they waste time interpreting digital voltmeters for basic measurements. Job security. P/S hum in s/b I use the scope when the ESR readings aren't conclusive. Too much ripple will cause that.
