1. CHECK FOR 35V AT COLLECTOR OF Q5A1. IF HIGH REPLACE
D503 IN PCC CIRCUIT.
PCB- DEFL PART #264P157010 2. CHECK FOR SHORTED Q5A1 IN PCC CIRCUIT. PCB- DEFL PART
#260P420020 3. CHECK
IC501 PIN 2 FOR VERTICAL WAVEFORM AND PIN 3 FOR HORIZONTAL W
NO CONVERGENCE
Solution
1. MULTIPLE COMPONENTS ON PCB CONVERGENCE FAILED: A.
REMOVE T902 ON PCB
POWER/DEFL PCB, CLEAN PCB EYELETS AND TRANSFORMER LEGS. REINSTALL TRANSFORMER TO PCB
AND RESOLDER, MAKE
SURE SUFFICIENT HEAT IS APPLIED TO ALLOW SOLDER TO FLOW BETWEEN FOI

There was a problem with this set where the horizontal was collaping in on
itself just on the lower edges which turned out to be a shorted D502 diode
and open R507. I replaced that and now the picture is larger then the
viewing area and it is hour glass shapped. You can really see the distorion
on the edges whne you inject cross hatch. When the channels are changed, it
appears that horizontal size slighty shrinks then pops right back. VR5A3
horizontal width adj has little affect. Keystone and PCC adjustments have
little affect as well. I have 7.6 volts on Q5a1 and thought it might be
going bad so I replaced Q5a1 and diode D501 and nothing changed. Still have
same horizontal size problem. hourglass shape, and 7.8volts at Q5A1
collector when it should be around 35 volts. Anyone seen this before? I am
running out of idea on this set.
Also looking for c522 and C523 value and ratings
Any help would be great!
