Joe,
I have a spare Eico tracer, I think it is. If you are interested let me
know.

Joe,
What is your B+ running. Also, do you have schematics
so you can see what the P-P going in is suppossed to be? Does it use an
stk-type amp or Xistors? Do you have a way to inject signals at various
amplitudes all the way to the output? If you had one of the old Heathkit
tracers/ injectors, you could be ahead of the game a little faster too.
I got mine from E-Bay for $65.00. It wouldn't hurt to give them a try.
Good Luck!
Joe

Customer bringing in above unit. Claims with volume control maxed you
can barely hear but sound is clear.

Is this similar to one of the units i've seen posted for another amp
that said to check the MUTE switch and EARPHONE JACK for possible cause.

TIA "joe"
