I know it's fixed now, but you should probably tell us 'which Debian' as in
stable/testing/unstable[1], because unstable breaks. While I was using it, it broke
ssh by uploading a new version of ssh and not the version of ssl it was compiled
against. It's also broken lilo and nettools (making it impossible to download
the fix over a network because ethernet cards wouldn't come up) and so on.
You should also mention if the problem followed an update of packages or not.
I track the testing tree and have three flatmates who track the unstable tree, so
I can report things about those trees to you.
