      Description:
     Position Overview 

      Supervises employees engaged in systems analysis activities to solve 
computer problems and enable computer technology to meet individual needs of an 
organization.

       

      Roles and Responsibilities 

      . Responsible for analysis to? improve return on investments in 
equipment, personnel, and business processes.

      . Assigns, coordinates, and reviews work of systems analysis? personnel.

      . A combination of over four years of directly related training? and/or 
experience is typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this 
job.

      . Typically reports to manager level and is the first supervisory level 
in the organization. 

      . Activities supervised include, but are not limited to, developing 
programs from workflow charts or diagrams; preparing flowcharts, 
specifications, and diagrams to be used for writing programs; entering program 
codes into computer; entering test data into computer; evaluating and analyzing 
existing and proposed data and procedures to design computer-based solutions to 
business problems; and analyzing test runs on computer. 

      . Consults with managerial and systems analysis personnel to clarify 
program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of 
programming and coding required.

      . Revises or directs revision of existing programs to increase operating 
efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

      . Compiles documentation of program development, and subsequent revisions.

      . Prescribes standards for terms and symbols used to simplify 
interpretation of programs.

      . Collaborates with computer manufacturers and other users to? develop 
new programming methods.

      . Prepares records and reports.

      . May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and 
recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action. 

      . Provides analyses that require expertise and background in geography, 
spatial analysis, and spatial data analytics. Cartographic output is generally 
provided in the form of hard-copy maps. Less frequently, web-based mapping 
systems or text-based charts are provided as an output to GIS requests.

       

      Skills/Experience

      . Systems Development 

      . (For GIS Lead) Five years of experience using and administering GIS 
systems.

      . (For Reporting/Analytics Lead) Five years of experience in 
enterprise-level reporting systems such as Crystal Reports, SQL Report System, 
etc. Several years experience using analytical software.

       

      Education

      Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science is desired but not required

      Description:
     Position Overview 

      Administers organization's database, using database management system to 
organize and store data.

       

      Roles and Responsibilities 

      . Determines user requirements, sets up computer databases and tests and 
coordinates changes.

      . Activities involve interaction with development and end-user personnel 
to determine application data access requirements, transaction rates, volume 
analysis, and other pertinent data required to develop and maintain integrated 
databases.

      . Ensures performance of database.

      . Coordinates physical changes to computer databases; and codes, tests, 
and implements physical database, applying knowledge of database management 
system.

      . Designs logical and physical databases or reviews description of 
changes to database design to understand how changes to be made affect physical 
database; i.e., how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics, such 
as location, amount of space, and access method.

      . Establishes physical database parameters.

      . Codes database descriptions and specifies identifiers of? database to 
database management system or directs others in coding database descriptions.

      . Calculates optimum values for database parameters, such as amount of 
computer memory to be used by database, following manuals.

      . Specifies user access level for each segment of one or more data items, 
such as insert, replace, retrieve, or delete data.

      . Specifies which users can access databases and what data can be 
accessed by user.

      . Tests and corrects errors, and refines changes to database.

      . Enters codes to create production? database.

      . Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database 
performance, such as distribution of records and amount of available memory.

      . Directs programmers and analysts to make changes to data base 
management system.

      . Reviews and corrects programs.

      . Answers user questions.

      . Confers with co-workers to determine impact of database changes on 
other systems and staff cost for making changes to database.

      . Modifies database programs to increase processing performance, referred 
to as performance tuning.

      . Workers typically specialize in one or more types of database 
management systems.

      . May train users.

       

      Skills/Experience

      . Database Administration (Oracle and SQL Server) - 3 yrs experience for 
Jr. 

      and > 5 yrs experience for Sr.
