We are looking for a contract Java ETL developer to augment our current
data migration team. This position will directly contribute to and
perform the following tasks (not a complete list, but rather a
representative list of common tasks):
Database analysis (i.e. mapping tables and columns from source
to destination databases)
Documentation (i.e. noting in standard format the mapping,
transformations, and considerations)
Communication (i.e. communicate your findings to the team,
challenge others’ findings, and accept challenges to your findings)
ETL Development (i.e. using Talend, a Java tool for ETL, design
and write ETL jobs for data migration)
Validation and Verification (i.e. verify that ETL jobs produce
results expected)
This is a contract position scheduled for 6 months. This position is
joining an established project team dedicated to the data migration
effort. The environment consists of source databases in MySQL, source
application in PHP, destination database in MySQL, destination
application in Java (running on Red Hat JBoss). The ETL tool in use is
Talend, a Java based tool.
