*JOB TITLE: ETL DEVELOPER** *
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 8 months +
Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree plus 10 or more years
experience. Description: Acts in the highest level technical role as an
individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer
applications and/or application initiatives. Utilizes a thorough
understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Works on
the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires
evaluation of intangible variance factors. Plans, performs, and acts as the
escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing.
Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts.
Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program
development, testing, and implementation process.
This is a senior ETL Developer position for the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
This position participates in the:
- Collect and Manage and Enhance existing ETL development standards
- Attend project walk-through meetings
- Creation of overall Process or Job Flow
- Create the detailed ETL design specifications and responsible for
successful
completion of all the tasks identified
- Develop UNIX scripts for ETL as necessary
- Create or Enhance new or existing scripts or functions using Shell or
Perl or C++
- Create appropriate ETL Documentation
- Assist with Delivery Services & Production Support team to help
resolve production
challenges
- Interact with Project Managers throughout the duration of the project
- Research existing processes that are not documented in metadata.
- Review code developed by other team members
- Identify & Present any process improvements
- Coordinate US & India resources as required
- Create Primary / Secondary developer on-call rotation and act as a
lead backup for
on-call.
- Estimate ETL Development efforts
- Act as a project lead for the developers assigned to a larger effort.
Minimum Qualification:
- 7-10 years direct development experience using ETL tools such as Datastage
- Experience with working in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment
- Strong understanding of the data ingetration
- Strong background in ETL tools, such as Datastage Parallel Extender
- Good understanding of parallel processing
- Good understanding of high performance methods used for ETL
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Experience with Source code version control
- Experience with Job Scheduling
- Experience with RDBMS like DB2 UDB and/or Teradata on AIX
- Experience with creating Primay / Secondary on-call developer
