Background on the UIT TAX Reengineering Project . The project methodology follows an iterative Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, whereby each of the major functional stages successively transition from Requirements, Design, Production, Test & Acceptance to Implementation and Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OA&M). The resulting application suite is anticipated to feature between 175 and 200 screens. This is technical work involving the development of complex computer programs. Responsibilities will include design, integration and coding, testing, debugging and documenting software applications. The architectural and programming tasks are intended to support an n-tiered, windows environment integrated using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) model to realize the best value from existing computing resources and integrating modernized database and business rules inference engines. Specifically, a given programming task involves either the User Presentation layer written in MS Visual Studio .NET 2005 for windows using Visual Basic (i.e., the Screen logic - to include the middle tier which communicates with the Business Rules) or the Business Rules logic which will be written in C# and ORACLE PL-SQL language, v9i or greater. Minimum General Experience § Three years of development experience using the Visual Studio Microsoft .NET Environment § Two years of development experience using Visual Basic § Two years of system development experience utilizing an Oracle relational database management system (DBMS) § Ability to read and accurately interpret an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) § Ability and experience in working with end-users to accomplish systems testing and acceptance § Must be fluent in conversational and written English § Must have the ability and experience to work effectively both independently, and as a member of a project team Note:.NET FOR MAINE F2F INTERVIEW This individual will be programming from a design specification and must be familiar with Object Oriented design (OOD) principles, having extensively coded in an object oriented environment on several projects Desirable Experience is as follows: 1. C# , C++, SQL, SQLPLUS, and PL/SQL 2. Version control software particularly Visual SourceSafe 3. Unit and system test plans, practices 4. System implementation and integration 5. System development and documentation standards 6. Iterative development 7. System architecture design 8. Proven written and oral communication skills 9.
