Database Developer - Miami, FL Start Date: ASAP Est. Duration of 1st. stage: December 2009 Rate: $50/hr Onsite: On location at the Client's site 100% of the time. No telecommuting or remote work. Description: The Client, a Governmental organization, is currently implementing several complex business integration projects and is seeking an experienced Developer to assist in the development and implementation of its new Land Management Application and Portal. The system is expected to manage the sum of all regulatory business processes the Client engages in to manage Land through all phases of construction from the acquisition of raw land through the construction and occupancy of a completed structure ending with the regulation and enforcement of continued use. The Land Management project is being implemented in phases with the Building Permitting phase being first. The Code enforcement phase has been completed and needs to be integrated with the overall Land Management application. Two subsequent phases are planned to be completed within the next two years. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Design and Develop relational databases. * Provide technical guidance and leadership in the core database-centric development areas: - Data modeling and database design - Back-end development - ETL processes design and development * Demonstrate ownership of the entire database domain in development and test environments. * Promote and enforce best practices in the database domain. * Work closely with application developers being a participant on the development team. * Interact with Production DBAs. Work in a team environment where SCRUM project management methodology is utilized. Be able to work independently as well. * Meet dead-line targets as directed by management. * Communicate effectively with coworkers and end users in a courteous and respectful manner. Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum of 8 + years of experience working with MS SQL Server 2000/2005. Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 is a plus - Data Modeling (ER/Studio, Erwin, Power Designer): o Conceptual data modeling o Logical data modeling o Physical data modeling - Expert level in T-SQL applied to back-end development: o Write, tune and modify stored procedures o User Defined Functions (UDFs) o Triggers - Strong ETL technology experience.
