Data Warehouse developer will be required to gather business requirements, work with the technical architecture team to propose solutions then deliver new interfaces into the data warehouse to support SOA applications and business intelligence. 2. Assisting with the development of business objects universes and acceptance testing of new business intelligence reports and capability. *OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB*: The Data Warehouse Developer is responsible for the ongoing operation and development of a data warehouse. The main purpose of this position is to support the organisation in its drive toward data mastery and improved business intelligence. *Key Responsibilities/Tasks:* 1. Consult to business intelligence stakeholders on data available in the data warehouse and business objects universes. 2. Develop interfaces into the data warehouse from internal and external systems. 3. Implement indexes and aggregates to improve business intelligence performance. 4. Promptly rectify any operational problems with feeds into or out of the data warehouse 5. Publishing notifications of changes and improvements to business objects universes and data available in the data warehouse 6. Review the core operating processes of the data warehouse and make recommendations. 7. Work collaboratively with Change Management resources in the implementation of changes resulting from data quality improvement initiatives. 8. Work with the data quality analyst, business objects team and enterprise architects to deliver business improvements using data in the data warehouse. * * *Skills/Competencies Required:* 1. Ability to articulate technical and process requirements into documentation for purposes of development or decision making. 2. Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams or on own initiative and proactively to meet corporate data quality objectives. 3. Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification 4. Excellent ability to apply policy and strategy in developing solutions. 5. Excellent experience of data warehouse development and support. 6. Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills 7. Experience of logical and physical database design and development methodologies 8. Experience of using ETL tools and stored procedures / functions 9. Experience with Business Objects and T-SQL 10. Experience with SQL Server SQL tuning and performance optimisation. 11. Extensive knowledge of business applications including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. 12. Prior international experience gained through work assignments would be beneficial. 13. Solid understanding of data collection, enrichment and cleansing methodologies.
