Job Description: Visual Basic, ASP .NET / Oracle Developer Our Client, a biotechnology research company located in Kensington, Maryland has an opening for a Visual Basic, ASP .NET / Oracle Developer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Knowledge of the relationship of quality assurance to activities across the SDLC and scientific research efforts. * Proven and demonstrated skills in conducting analysis, and developing logical and documented recommendations for improvements and solutions. * Demonstrate understanding of relational database design, Oracle physical and logical design, configuration management, application integration, component reuse, and prototyping. * Performs high level and detailed analysis, defining, and performing coding, unit testing, and debugging activities. * Proven ability to effectively use the debugger to quickly isolate software bugs. * Provide backup network support for our infrastructure, Windows 2000 2003 servers * Work with application super users on identifying and resolving technical issues. * Assist application users and resolve technical issues. * Assist with development of working practice documents and SOPs * Perform system development, integration, and deployment activities, prepare system support documentation, and document program and system functions. * Participate and contribute to the development of technical proposals and Statements of Work. * Gather and update user requirements, design, test, and implement solutions for internal and external customers. * Develop and support software modules for new and existing software systems. * The systems consist of web based and windows environment built on the ASP .NET framework using an Oracle 9i / 10g backend. Knowledge and Experience Required: * BA in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering) or related field preferred but not required and 5-7 years of hands-on application experience. * Minimum 5 years experience in a biotechnology research/preclinical process or drug development setting preferred but not required. * Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, ASP, .NET Framework, ASP.NET, VBScript, VB.NET JavaScript, Java, HTML and Visual Studio 2005. * Proficiency in Web development (ASP.Net) and experience with building and designing connected systems using the .Net framework * Understanding of core Microsoft .Net concepts and Framework Classes * Familiarity with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and its integration with .NET applications and familiarity with Symantec Backup software * Strong and effective interpersonal skills (both written and oral) * Ability to interact with all echelons of Management & Staff as well as providing the highest degree of Customer Service to both internal and external entities. * Task and Team-oriented, analytical, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and ability to multi-task. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks & Regards.
