Project Manager-You should have PM exp in NY-Min-1 year

 

Location: Albany, NY

Duration: 12 months (This position is part-time and will require on average
20 hours per week for the first 12 months of the project and will be reduced
to less than 10 hours per week for the remaining 6 months)

Required skills:

*       A minimum of eight (8) years experience in managing mid to
large-sized IT software development projects which included analysis,
design, coding, quality assurance, implementation, infrastructure and
security tasks.
*       A minimum of eight (8) years experience in facilitating workshops
and focus group sessions. 

*         A minimum of four (4) years experience developing and managing
project schedules and resources using Microsoft Project.

*       A minimum of four (4) years experience in mentoring project
managers.
*       A minimum of one (1) year of experience in using the NY State
Project Management methodology to manage projects.
*       A minimum of one (1) year of PMI Project Management Professional
(PMP) certification. Provide date of certification. 

 

 

*       DESIRABLE Experience Listed in order of importance: 
*       Experience with the NYS Department of Health project management
environment and using the Department's project management methodology.  
*       Experience with managing projects in the Medicaid reimbursement
area. 
*       Experience in managing business process redesign, business process
improvement or change management projects.
*       Experience with managing projects in the health care field.

 

Description

*       Project Manager III consultant (part-time) to serve as project
manager for the Medicaid Reimbursement System Project.  The Department will
assemble a team of highly skilled technical experts to assess, design,
develop and test a new computer system to calculate Medicaid rates of
reimbursement.  The project manager will lay the ground work for the
initiation and planning of the project, following the Department's project
management methodology to ensure that it is properly managed and the project
is completed on schedule, within scope and under budget.
*       The Project Manager III will be responsible for the project
management of the Medicaid Reimbursement System Project, using proven tools,
techniques and certified resources to support this effort.  The Project
Manager will mentor existing Department staff in the processes and
techniques of project management, in order to prepare them to assume the
role of project team leaders.  The Project Manager will need to leverage
existing project management activities, support implementation of relevant
tools from the DOH Project Management Field Guide, and implement other
critical support, as needed.   This position is part-time and will require
on average 20 hours per week for the first 12 months of the project and will
be reduced to less than 10 hours per week for the remaining 6 months.
