Oracle Support Engineer: Location:- Chicago, IL Duration:- 6 months Rate:- Open Job Description Support, maintain and enhance existing and new Oracle developer and forms applications and support domino applications and upgrades for the IT Core Finance department. ? Depending on size of project, may work across multiple projects or features ? Ensure quality of necessary project documentation ? feasibility studies, requirements, functional spec, technical design, test plans and project close as requested. ? Support business client needs throughout full project life cycle. ? Ensure successful execution and integration of all code changes. ? Participate in requirements, design reviews, etc. for other projects as requested ? Provide routine status to project manager on all activities. ? Ensure root cause analysis has been done and documented for problems arising from the assigned project. ? Provide guidance for business decisions, putting forth risk/reward recommendations as they relate to the overall quality and stability of the requested systems/applications. ? Assist in the creation of an overall testing strategy for systems/application upgrades and replacements. ? Maintain all assigned applications within agreed to SLAs. ? Provide mentoring as assigned for development of cross functional support activities. ? Provide support and new development as needed for existing Domino applications. Job Criteria Experience Required (years & overall competencies): ? Minimum 10+ years hands on experience in designing, developing, maintaining and enhancements of mid to Large-scale Oracle Applications. ? Proven ability to reverse engineer legacy applications as needed for upgrades and on-going support activities. ? Experienced the follow environments: Windows NT/XP, mainframe and UNIX ? Experience with Oracle 6i and 10g Forms and Reports. ? Experience with upgrading client/server 6i version to web based Oracle 10g AS. ? Experience with configuring webutil. ? Experience maintaining Oracle Application server. ? Experience in VB 6. ? Experience with development and support of Domino 6.5 and later applications. ? Should be able to work with form templates, property classes, form parameters, Object libraries and PL/SQL libraries. ? Should be able to create tables, database triggers, procedures, functions and packages. ? Experience with SQL tuning. ? Experience with shell scripts, UNIX editor ? Experience with batch scripts ? Should be able to work on own, little or no help. ? Should have knowledge and working skills to manage an Oracle Data base, create and maintain table spaces, data files, redo log files and control files. ? Knowledge of Mainframe. ? Oracle certifications are preferred. Experience Preferred: Previous experience with MCD Oracle applications preferred. Previous experience in actively supporting mainframe applications. Required Technology Skills: Oracle 6i & 10g, Visual Basic 6, UNIX, Shell, PL/SQL, Oracle 10G forms and reports, Oracle Financials (Projects, Fixed Assets, AP), Discoverer Reporting. Domino 6.5 and later. Preferred Technology Skills: Mainframe, batch Education & Certifications (required or preferred): Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent in an IT development and/or support environment.
