Client is looking for a Systems Administrator with Sr. level experience in Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris and Windows Virtual/server/Desktop systems. This position maintains the current NAS Units, Linux/Solaris processing environment, as well as Windows licensing and backup systems for the engineering design community. This position is in Malibu working for their client, HRL Laboratories with a team that possesses the expertise to configure, document and maintain current Unix/Linux and Windows computing environments. The services performed include: -Install, configure, document and maintain backup and restore processes -Install, configure, document and maintain engineering applications. -Prepare and maintain documentation for monitoring, operational and diagnostic procedures. -Maintain, monitor and upgrade production systems -Provide 24x7x365 on-call support as a part of a team -Act as a vendor liaison working closely with client to solve problems quickly and completely -Identify tasks which should be automated and then write tools to automate them -Perform system analysis and tuning -Perform system security administration functions, including creation and maintenance of customer profiles and accounts, access rights and file permissions. -Install, configure, document and maintain licensing application -Install, test, and verify application and Operating Systems patches and updates -Install, configure, document and maintain NAS systems -Recommend changes to the computing environment that improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the operation.
