Skill: Wide Area Network (WAN) Analyst Loc: Houston, TX Duration: 6 months Rate: $ open * Capable and hands on experience with configuring, deploying, supporting and administering: * Cisco 2600, Cisco 2800, Cisco 3600 and similar WAN Routers. Cisco 7200 class routers * Routing protocols : Strong OSPF and EIGRP hands on configuration and administration * Experience dealing with cooperative troubleshooting of T-1, DS-3 and other Wide area circuits with Telco carriers. * Power plant SCADA and EMS knowledge would be nice. The Wide Area Network Operations group is primarily responsible for providing enterprise wide LAN and WAN backbone network support as well as LAN support. Major areas of responsibility include: terrestrial and wireless network design and engineering, network equipment purchasing and installation, project management, management of metropolitan and wide area links to include SONET, DWDM, ATM, Frame Relay, DS3, T1, DS0, DDS, DSL and vendor data feeds, infrastructure cabling systems (copper and fiber optic), environmental management (heating, ventilation and cooling - HVAC), grounding and bonding and outside plant. Work often requires coordination of services in multiple geographic locations throughout the country. Uniformity of standards and project continuity are assured. Summary: Develops, administers and supports the enterprise network systems. Responsibilities include network design including technology evaluations, network architecture, topology development and system specifications. Other responsibilities include network monitoring, performance analysis, customer support and fault / problem management. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: * Cisco Router configuration, implementation, maintenance * Cisco Switch configuration, implementation, maintenance * Cisco VPN configuration, implementation, maintenance * Cisco DWDM configuration, implementation, maintenance * Cisco Wireless and ACS configuration, implementation, maintenance * Cisco MDS configuration, implementation, maintenance * Multicast configuration, implementation, maintenance * Remote access maintenance and configuration * APC configuration, implementation, maintenance * Cable Management configuration, implementation, maintenance * Monitoring Systems: WhatsUp, Vital, Netscout, Orion * Network Device/Warehouse Inventory Management Education: * Bachelor's degree in an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent work experience preferred. * CCNA preferred, but not required.
