Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duration: 6 months

Essential Job Functions: 

  a.. Help scope and estimate, and contribute to the technical specifications, 
design, and architecture for assigned project work 
  b.. Present new technical knowledge and contribute to technology best 
practices 
  c.. Participate in site and application development 
  d.. Follow and enforce unit testing, code, and documentation standards within 
the project's development team 
  e.. Work with the Online Product Manager to craft the best technical approach 
for the project at hand 
  f.. As directed, communicate with client in regards to technology issues 
impacting the project work 
  g.. Collaborate with stakeholders and resources as needed to facilitate 
overall project success 
  h.. Raise potential issues impacting the overall success of the project in a 
timely manner 
  i.. Contributes estimates for specific tasks associated with new business 
proposals 
  j.. Help build technical prototypes or proof-of-concepts to be used for 
business development activities 
  k.. Brainstorm and research potential technical solutions for business 
development 
  l.. Mentor junior staff in appropriate technical and business skills and help 
coordinate their day-to-day tasks 
  m.. Coordinate with vendors and integrate their technology or web site 
 

Required Qualifications: 

ü      A Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, CS or Communications or equivalent 
experience 

ü      3-5 years experience in web application development 

ü      Proficiency with HTML/JavaScript/XML/CSS 

ü      Proficiency with ASP.Net, C#, AJAX, ADO.Net 

ü      Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio development environment 

ü      Proficiency in writing/modifying relational database queries (SQL) 

ü      Demonstrated ability to write code that is clear, well-commented, easy 
to maintain, and free of bugs and errors. Code must be consistent with the 
technical architecture created for the project and adhere to coding standards 

ü      Demonstrated understanding of web application development best 
practices, including case development, object-oriented analysis, design, 
programming, UML, reusable design patterns, and multi-tier architectures 

ü      Experience working with a QA team 

ü      Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and implications (waterfall, agile, 
etc.) 

ü      Experience with identifying scalability and other risks associated with 
a technical design decision 

ü      Experience with Flash or other RIA technologies 

ü      Experience with Mobile web application development 

ü      Experience in creating and integrating with SOAP/REST based web services 

ü      Experience implementing complex visual designs for public-facing 
websites 

ü      Exposure to a breadth of web tools and products 

ü      A solid understanding on Content Management principles 

ü      A solid understanding of secure web application coding practices 

ü      This position may require up to 5% travel to current or potential client 
sites, conferences, seminars, or training sessions
