Rate: $60-62/hr

 

Key capabilities / competencies -

*       10 + years of progressive industry experience in the field of
Database design/Data Architecture 
*       Minimum 5+ years of experience with developing conceptual and
logical data models for medium to large IT systems and developing normalized
data models into physical database schema 
*       Experience with the design and implementation of enterprise data
integration solutions and technologies 

*       Experience with SQL, XML, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Message
Broker, Middleware technologies, Oracle 10g+, SQL 2005+, any legacy z/OS
experience is valued. 

*       Knowledge of SOA concepts 
*       Strong understanding of the Student Interchange Format (SIF) model
is a strong plus 

*       Ability to communicate effectively 

In English, both written and orally

In a credible and confident manner at all levels in the organization

                  Especially on technical issues to an education audience

 

The Data Architect will be responsible for, but not limited to the
following:

*       Conducting interface requirements analysis of current NYCDOE
business applications 
*       Defining a common messaging interface for the enterprise 
*       Develop data architectures and schema design in support of technical
specification development 
*       Recommending the best practices around data transformations to
support the data movement 
*       Assist with the development of data-related artifacts supporting the
development of service contracts and semantic models 
*       Coordinate with the project's team and others to ensure that data
standards and models align with the overall systems architecture and systems
engineering approach and meet applicable standards
