We have an urgent requirement for " LINUX OPERATIONAL SUPPORT ENGINEER "
consultants with one of my clients. Please find the details and the complete
job description of the position given below.
Position: LINUX OPERATIONAL SUPPORT ENGINEER
Consultant
Location: Hershey, PA
Duration: 6 Months with possibility of extension
Rate: As Low As Possible $/hr AI
Start Date: ASAP
Positions: One
Essential Functions:
Resource will work as the Onsite Lead/ Coordinator
Essential Knowledge:
1. Red Hat Certified Engineer (preferably on RHEL v5)
2. must have experience implementing the Linux hardening procedures per the
NSA Hardening Guide.
3. experience with the following: (these are the tasks that the consultant
would be expected to perform at AW)
a. securing Red Hat servers (using SELinux, IPtables, configure
SSH,etc)
b. configuring and managing RHEL 4.x and 5.x environments
c. backup/restore of RHEL
d. setup and configuration of Kickstart server - for automatic red hat
server configuration and deployment.
(Note: this is a key component ,as a Kickstart server will
help reduce administrative time to build and configure red hat servers in
the near and long term)
e. configuration of LDAP, Sendmail, and apache
Deep knowledge of Red Hat Linux package configuration/update, performance
tuning and problem resolution
Java problem resolution
Spring application development framework knowledge (nice to have)
VMware setup and configuration (Nice to have)
Essential Skills:
Red Hat Linux
Java
Additional Comments:
7+ years Linux experience; 5+ years JBoss experience; 5+ Java experience
Strong Leadership experience to represent client's
Operational support team for the web self-service application. Must have
strong English speaking and documentation skills, quick study with complex
SOA architectures, ability to work with minimal system documentation,
collaborative spirit, and extra hours if requested. Must have strong
consulting skills experience
