ArcSDE DBA Raleigh, DBA 12 Months Description: ArcSDE DBA Worker assignment to develop ArcSDE databases and procedures to migrate the NCDOT GIS core data sets from single user to enterprise multiuser databases. This will include the following activities: . Develop data model(s) and document use cases for NCDOT core GIS Linear Reference (LR) datasets . Develop, and implement ArcSDE feature datasets and classes for the NCDOT score GIS LR datasets . Establish and develop maintenance procedures for sound backup and recovery for core NCDOT GIS datasets . Develop and create maintenance procedures for nightly/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual processing . Develop and create maintenance procedures for ArcSDE tuning and performance monitoring . Develop and establish procedures for maintaining ArcSDE database security . Develop and execute data migration plan for all core NCDOT GIS datasets . Troubleshooting ArcSDE for connectivity, access, performance and other issues . Provide consultation to development teams . Develop procedures for applying service packs and upgrades for ArcSDE in NCDOT environment . Setup and maintain documentation and standards . Some tasks may also include independent work This position will perform work at DOT facilities using DOT provided computer and equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required: . Extensive hands on experience with deployment of ArcSDE in a large enterprise environment . Advanced knowledge and experience with GIS industry principles, theories and best practices . Good understanding of underlying Oracle database . Good knowledge and experience developing physical database design . Advanced knowledge of SQL applied to Geodatabases . Advanced knowledge of UML modeling . Advanced understanding of GIS data formats, data conversion and data maintenance concepts . Knowledge and experience with editing scenarios in a multiuser Geodatabase . Advanced knowledge and experience with python scripting applied to Geodatabases . Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret organizational and procedural problems in order to make recommendations and alterations to existing procedures . Considerable knowledge of the ArcSDE database administrator process . Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form .
