Strong ability to analyze functional needs that drive the analysis and technical design of quality technical solutions; recommends solutions that are aligned with business / IT strategies and complies with corporate architectural standards. . Resolves complex application and technical problems. . Analyzes complex performance and capacity issues with systems / applications software and/or application components. . Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies. . Provides mentoring and training to more junior staff. . Handles complex operational tasks and recommends processing and technology changes. . Strong ability to work collaboratively with IT staff on development, troubleshooting, and other technical efforts. . Create/Maintain software documentation and systems design. . Strong communication skills. . Strong knowledge of programming / systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions; possesses a strong understanding of programming languages, development tools, and the current environment. . Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses a strong understanding of business requirements and IT strategies. . Draws on broad knowledge base (e.g., infrastructure, technology, and applications) to analyze complex problems and contribute to troubleshooting efforts. . Leverages strong design understanding and/or capabilities (e.g., database, application code, reusable objects, and interfaces) to optimize development efforts in a distributed environment. . Good understanding of development technology used to support one or more business operations areas. . Responds to direct questions from IT Management or the business on the effects of emerging technologies on product development and business directions; may provide buy vs. build recommendations or assist in platform determination. . Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. . 6 to 8 years of IT work experience in J2EE programming / analysis .
