*GENERAL PURPOSE:*

*The Contract Quality Assurance position is focused on the testing of new
and existing operational support of project work for TelePacific
Communications.  This position carries with it the responsibility of
performing the full QA life cycle for all projects from simple to complex.*

*SUPERVISION RECEIVED: *

*This individual works under the supervision and direction of the Manager -
Quality Assurance.*

* *

*SUPERVISION EXERCISED:*

*This individual will be supervised under a matrix management type of
structure that involves interfaces with PMs, BAs, clients and management.*

* *

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*

· *The Contract QA Engineer is the principle link between SD and PROD. This
function may entail working with the client departments should they want or
be solicited to help test software. Therefore, this individual must be a
highly effective communicator to all constituencies in that constituencies'
innate vocabulary.** ***

· *Undertake detailed analyses of requirements and use this information to
create test plan documentation.** ***

· *Formulate testing scenarios based upon the requirements which may take
the form of new / enhanced functionality and / or adaptations of existing
functionality.** ***

· *Document functional and peripheral testing requirements and feasible
solutions for use in testing.  Peripheral requirements include, but are not
limited to, performance characteristics that may be used as a basis for an
SLA.** ***

· *Provide LOE estimates or quotes, with appropriate documentation and
explanation with respect to QA functions.** ***

· *Perform testing and fact finding to develop or modify communication
mediums that are suitable to communicate with our client base and the
development team.** ***

· *Prepare detailed QA specifications from which programs will be purchased,
written, or modified.** ***

· *Perform system, process and application testing and gathers metrics.** **

· *Analyzes and revises existing QA difficulties and documentation as
necessary.** ***

· *Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products
and services meet organization standards and end user requirements.** ***

· *Work with software developers to define fixes for system bugs fixes.** **

· *Participate in User Acceptance Testing.** ***

· *Produces other forms of Quality documentation as necessary.** ***

*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personality Traits:***

*·**         Possess a curious nature and have a desire to solve problems
and find solutions.*

*·**         Be able to communicate effectively with and coordinate
communication between diverse groups (functional end users, project team
members, IS resources, and management).*

*·**         Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
are required.*

*·**         Detailed knowledge of UML, specifically using Use Cases to
build test plans.*

*·**         Possess negotiating skills to manage end user relationships.*

*·**         3-4 years creating test plans and procedures in varied
environments (Java, .NET).*

*·**         1-3 years with the Mercury Test Suite, or similar test tools
necessary.*

*·**         Ability to create comprehensive regression test plans.*

*·**         2-3 years testing in an Agile development environment. *

*·**         Background in SQL with ability to perform data analysis and
troubleshooting*

*·**         Ability of read an XML document and decipher data and formats
needed in the document.*

*·**         Understand the use of APIs, with respect to WSDLs, etc.*

*·**         Preference will be given to those that possess experience using
the Mercury mechanized testing software. *

*Education/Experience Requirements:***

*·**         At least a four (4) year degree in a technical field or
business discipline*

*·**         Four (4) years of Information Technology work experience.*

*·**         Preference given to those with BA and/or programming
experience.*

*An in-depth knowledge and experience related to QA roles (i.e., Agile),
implementation and support of Telecommunications Industry Operations Support
Systems (OSS) through the use of various computer technologies. *
