Job Summary:

Web Technologists, as part of company's IT function, are responsible for
HTML production and design on the Corporate Intranet, and User Interface
(UI) design for web based applications.  The overall team responsibilities
include maintenance of content on the Corporate Intranet, user support, and
web publishing training for the Intranet user community. In your role, you
will focus on web publishing and content management on the Corporate
Intranet.  Strong organizational skills, technical expertise and attention
to detail are key in this customer-focused role.



Essential Functions:

You will work as part of a team tasked to:

- Install, configure, tune, update, and troubleshoot web-related server
software.



- Work with web developers and other IT administrators (e.g. database,
server, network, etc.) to architect scalable and reliable web systems, and
to troubleshoot and resolve issues with same.



- Manage and resolve helpdesk trouble tickets for web-related issues.



- Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis.



^Requirements:

- Strong oral and written communication skills.



- Ability to work collaboratively with other Web Technologist team members
to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well.



- Customer service focus.



- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.



- Strong interpersonal skills needed to work with employees in other
functional areas.



- Knowledge of current alternatives in available web site software and
hardware.



- Experience with Apache web server installation and configuration in a Unix
environment.



- Experience with Unix shell or Perl scripting, gcc, make, ant, or other
open-source tools.



- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues even in unfamiliar environments
is an essential skill.



- Ability to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.





Responsibility and Interaction:

Responsibility:

- The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and
unstructured, requiring creative solutions.

- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving
routine to moderately complex problems.



Interaction:

- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level
employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects.
There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.

- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or
assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.

- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter
expert on team projects.

- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results
through coaching and influencing others.





^Education & Experience:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.  6 to 8 years of
experience is preferred.

- A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineer or Computer Sciences,
or related technical field required; or equivalent experience in Graphic
Arts, Computers Sciences, Computer Information Systems, MIS, or related.

- Experience with any of the following is preferred:

Search engines

Web traffic analysis tools

J2EE servlet engines and application servers

Single sign-on services

Content management systems

Source control software

- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex
technical tasks.
