Job Description:
The JAVA/J2EE Developer will be responsible for design, development, testing
and trouble-shooting the customer applications. The candidate must be able
to review requirements, estimate tasks and provide regular status updates.
The candidate will participate in the analysis of customer and vendor
requirements and provide technical direction on the creation of detailed
program design specifications for high complexity user interfaces,
application enhancements, new functionality, and backend processes in
collaboration with customers, Business System Analysts, and other project
team members. Assist project management in estimates as requested. Develop
and modify complex, deadline-intensive, and/or mission-critical applications
using advanced programming tools. Document all code using standard forms and
procedures, and review others work as appropriate. Assist others in the use
of programming tools and recommend tools to best meet application needs.
Recommend process, methodology, and tool changes in conjunction with
Architects and QA to best meet the needs of the department and client. Work
with Quality assurance to participate in unit, system, and user acceptance
testing based on an understanding of the development lifecycle. Participate
in architectural recommendations/decisions and work with other
infrastructure groups as applicable to determine and implement complex
system hardware requirements that may involve multiple platforms, databases,
peripherals, or other technology. Provide the highest level of technical
production support for applications, assist others with complex problem
resolution, and respond with solutions to both functional and technical
issues in a timely manner. Work with Business System Analysts, Project
Managers, or other management to recommend process or system enhancements.
Work with DBAs, Architects, and other team members to ensure logical and
physical data models and relationship diagrams are completed and executed
according to methodology and user requirements.
Required Skills:
4-6 years experience programming in J2EE. Significant hands-on development
experience using Struts, Servlets, JSPs, HTML, JavaScript, EJBs
4 years of experience in OOAD Design
6 years of experience developing on 3 Tier Web-based Applications
Advanced experience across the software development life cycle
Advanced understanding of relational databases and SQL
Advanced experience of JAX WS based web services development
1-2 years experience of Spring Framework 2.5 or above
1-2 years experience of Hibernate and JPA
Working experience with WebSphere 6.0 or above and Java 1.5
Sufficient knowledge of UNIX
Experience with native Sabre and/or ACS Systems is a plus
Experience with Maven is a plus
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good communications skills (written/verbal), with emphasis on demonstrated
ability to convey complex technical principles to non-technical audiences.
