Hello All,
I appreciate, if you can find me a good fit for the below position... Please respond to [email protected] WIRELESS NETWORK ARCHITECT LOCATION: REDMOND, WA DURATION: 6-12 MONTHS Expertise in wireless network architecture: . Detailed understanding of wireless network architecture including protocols and connectivity . Ability to assess impacts of network changes across all elements and technologies (GSM/UMTS, RAN/Core, data/voice, IMS, etc.) . Detailed understanding of RF engineering concepts and implementation . Produce impact assessment and commensurate requirements and design documents Expertise in IT architecture, engineering and planning . Detailed understanding of IT architecture (application, database, interface/integration) . Ability to architect an end-to-end IT solution based upon business needs driven by network changes as noted above . Detailed understanding of IT hardware infrastructure . Time and cost estimation, extensive customer interaction and technical leadership . Creates overall architecture, high level design, functional requirement specifications, consults with business customers In essence these resources need to completely understand the end-to-end mobility network architecture and how its interfaces and flow works. It needs to be understood deeply enough to clearly call out impacts to the network from changes. This includes a deep understanding of how RF engineering works. The types of network elements we are talking support GSM, UMTS and are now leading into LTE (4G). Some acronyms of these Mobility elements involved off the top of my head (not exhaustive) are BTS, BSC, NodeB/RNC (includes the Iu(x) interfaces), MSC, BSC, SGSN/GGSN, IMS, E911/LBS and messaging (SMS) networks. They should also understand how an RF engineer works in terms of determining optimum configuration of network. On the IT skills side a few highlights off the top of my head would include Oracle (including RAC) and SQL server DB, Java, J2EE, Web services, Tibco middleware, Sun and Windows h/w platforms, experience with SAN infrastructure and IT network configuration, backup strategies and configuration. This experience needs to be in a LARGE Enterprise IT shop. Thanks & Regards, Joel Garner Technical Recruiter Data Group, Inc.
