Network Engineer Location: Wilmington, DE Duration: 6 months Max Rate: 40/hr Maxxxx Plans, designs and implements Local Area Network's (LAN's), MAN's and WAN's related enhancements or upgrades to support changes and growth within the technology enterprise. Primary duty is to design, test, and evaluate network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet, intranet, and other data communications systems. Primarily tasked with designing or re-designing corporate network design schema as well as continually reviewing best practices and regulations to ensure the network is secure, optimized and redundant in service availability. Further responsibility includes, implementation and management of all network based hardware resources and associated systems. DESCRIBE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: * Travel and Night Weekend Work may be necessary. * Monitor, evaluate, and report on the health of both the Wide and Local Area (WAN/LAN) Networks. * Configure and maintain the enterprise network management system, maintain the enterprise network security systems such as intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, firewalls and provide equipment/circuit health status as needed. * Assist in enterprise server/network on-call issue resolution. * Advanced trouble-shooting, implementation, configuration and management of network hardware and software. * Work as part of a team with user and/or customer staff to determine project requirements, goals, implementation schedules, etc. * Analyze and understand client's IT requirements, organization functions, and decision making processes to prioritize daily tasks and assignments * Assist in developing documentation and maintaining a database of training materials, network diagrams, configurations, circuit s and equipment inventory. * Perform project work and other assigned tasks on time. * Perform network capacity planning and performance analyses in order to size the network properly.
