Position: MAINFRAME PROGRAMMER / ANALYST Consultant Location: Brooklyn, NY Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension Rate: As Low As Possible $/hr AI Start Date: ASAP Positions: One Our client requires the services of programmer analysts to work in the Employee Information Systems (EIS) area. The system is an IBM DB2 / CICS application. 1. Experience with DB2, CICS, SQL, QMF, ISPF, JCL, PLATINUM, (GAMMA) with a knowledge of VSAM and other mainframe general utilities i.e. Sorts etc. is required. 2. Knowledge of PCs, .NET Visual Basic is also helpful. 3. Candidate will be responsible for online and batch programming as well as system and data analysis. Role Requirements: 1. Participate in the process of gathering requirements from the end users and transforming these requirements into detail program specifications. 2. Assist in the design and development of reports. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: 1. Minimum of 8 years experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions. Environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid range, personal computers, and laptop. 2. Must be able to assist and/or lead in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions. 3. Excellent communication skills. 4. Knowledge of full cycle system implementation. 5. Technical Skills Required: a) 8+ years of COBOLII. b) 5+ years of CICS. c) 5+ years of business analysis experience. d) 3+ years of DB2/SQL programming. e) 3+ years of QMF report writing. f) 3+ years of MVS Utilities, SyncSort, TSO, and ISPF g) 3+ years of OS/JCL. h) Development of test plans and execution of them. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: 1. Platinum. 2. XPEDITER. 3. DB2 Utilities. 4. File-Aid. 5. CA-Librarian. 6. VB.NET.
