POSITION: Cognos 8 BI Architect LOCATION: Charlotte, NC START: ASAP Pay Rate: $40 per hour - *expenses covered separately* * Essential Job Functions:* • Provide the overall reporting solution foundation for development and implementation for data reporting, modeling, and analysis of a data warehouse. • Responsible to architect data model that supports reporting solution that is flexible, user friendly and performs well. • Expertise with Dimensional Modeling techniques and best practices required. • Responsible for tuning and optimization of the reporting solution. • Responsible for developing and maintaining Framework Manager models; Write detailed technical specifications and implement them. • Provide training, support, and best practices for Adhoc Query users and Report Authors. • Establish practices to ensure data quality and perform quality reviews of framework manager and data models. • Coach in the writing of reports and general use. · Identify risks in proposed designs Job Requirements: · Cognos 8 design skills are required. • 6-7 years of experience as a Cognos Systems Architect and Report Developer • 7-10 years of experience in the Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse field (especially in Marketing functional area) • Prior experience in building reporting solution for large marketing databases · Prior experience in Netezza a plus • Strong data modeling and data architecture and analytical skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced team environment • Communicate standards and best practices and train report developers on their use. • Work with report developers, data modelers and business analysts to ensure the BI functional infrastructure meets the design and delivery needs of the business projects. • Integrate Cognos with other BI and application platforms used internally. · Provide oversight and governance of BI report performance. -- Deepa TAMMINA SOLUTIONS LLC 11874,Sunrise valley Drive Suite 200,Reston, VA 20191 Phone:703-880-5282 Fax:703-991-5532 Email:[email protected] <email%[email protected]> Yahoo IM : Deepa.itrec
