project is with the state government of PA.
Position: Network Engineer (router/switches)
Location: Harrisburg, PA
Duration: 8 Months
F2f interview required at Harrisburg, PA at own expense, locals prefered
Complete Description:
The individual will be responsible for technical and administrative duties;
included (but are not limited to) the Responsibility for Management of
various contracts associated with the Data and Voice operations in the
Keystone Building. This includes assisting the various Keystone Building
agencies in obtaining the necessary support from telecommunications
contractors to insure efficient and timely adds, moves, and changes to the
telecommunications infrastructure. Included in this are the provisioning,
configuring, and installation of (Nortel/Cisco) routers, (Nortel/Cisco)
switches, (various manufacture) hubs and related communications equipment.
It is also necessary to provide these agencies with direct support in
resolving Data Communications issues related to the use of the
Commonwealth's Metropolitan Area and Wide Area Networks. This could involve
providing assistance on their new requirements by analysis of system studies
to develop the methods for the use of existing and future telecommunications
technologies. Participation on various teams and committees is required to
develop strategies, standards, and migration paths to complete each project.
SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION
Install, maintain and repair firewall applications/platforms for
Commonwealth Agencies located in Keystone Building.
Install physical level wiring and cabling to support the installation of
network hubs, patch panels, modems, routers, and other related network
equipment and maintaining documentation via Aperture Cable Management
systems.
