Position: Sr. Business Analyst with Project Management Exp Location: Upper Gwyned, PA Duration: 3-6 Months + Extensions Under the direction of the Merck Sigma Leaders, the Manager, will work in a project focused organization as a member of MRL (Merck Research Lab): 1) work as a consultant with functional and cross functional teams to facilitate the definition of improvement projects, gather and analyze and develop improvements and innovations, and prepare presentations to communicate project status, 2) as project leader, manage approved Lean Six Sigma projects, 3) utilize various tools and techniques to analyze and improve business processes as either a project leader or facilitator, and 4) transfer Lean Six Sigma tools and skills into the organization. Also will provide expertise to teams including: .Identify target areas for process improvement and or innovation within the MRL subdivisions .Map, investigate and analyze business processes .Assess process efficiency and performance .Assist leaders in ensuring project objectives align with annual Divisional objectives at all levels .Work with leaders to develop recommendations for process improvement projects .Provide project management support including assessing and adjusting timelines and resource requirements .Coordinate benchmarking and external analysis (Subject Matter Experts Workshops, company visits, etc.) .Provide Lean Six Sigma expertise in a Research and Development environment including methods and tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, Change Management principles and Project Planning. .Develop and promote common Lean Six Sigma Methodology using DMAIC for process improvement or DFSS / DMADV for Innovation .Provide leadership and facilitation support to Lean Six Sigma teams as requested .Provide management and supervision to Sr. Analysts, Analysts, etc. Coach, mentor and develop as required. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of a Masters degree in a related technical discipline such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology or chemical engineering and multiple years of demonstrated achievement or significant work accomplishment of the above skills. Post-doctoral training in a related discipline is preferred. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification also strongly preferred. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related technical or business discipline required; advance degree desirable. At least 10 years of applicable experience in project management and/ or business process improvement and innovation and at least two years supervisory experience. Six Sigma certification and/or drug discovery experience required; quality orientation desirable. Other pharmaceutical experience and strategic management consulting experience a plus. Must have excellent analytical, communications, and consultative/facilitations skills; project and team management skills; and have knowledge of operational excellence tools and methodologies.
