Senior Network Engineer Contractor - Local Area Network

 

Location: Eagan, MN 

Duration: 3 month 

Rate: $50 per hour

 

 

General Qualifications:

 

- A self-motivated person who is able to work on multiple projects

- Able to prioritize projects with respect to milestones and deadlines

- Work with the server, desktop support and development  groups

- Willing to work as part of a team and share responsibilities when
needed

- Ability to work off hours (weekends/evenings) occasionally
approximately 8-12 hrs/month

 

Primary Responsibilities and Projects:

- Identify Switch Hardware that is End of Life on Enterprise and

DataCenter networks

- Schedule and Plan for the Removal of End of Life Equipment 

-  Implement User Closet Security standards (DHCP snooping, BPDU, etc) 

- Manage the migration of servers from 1 RU Cisco switches to Cisco

chassis based switches to include leading multi-disciplined technical

groups and interfacing with internal business units (application owners)

- Contribute to the design and deployment of Cisco Virtual Office

(Remote Access) solution

 

Minimum Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related

technical degree is required

- Experience with Cisco chassis based switches and Cisco IOS

- Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, Layer 2 switching and Layer 3

routing

- IP address provisioning

- Remote Access and VPN

- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

- Project Management experience

Desired Qualifications:

- 3-5 years experience in Networking is preferable

- Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification is Mandatery

- Knowledge of operating systems such as Unix and Linux

- Cisco network security 

- IPT/VOIP
