Job Title: Senior Sybase DBA
Location: Deerfield, IL
Duration: 6 months
Requirements
a.. 10 years experience as Senior Database Administrator in an operational
role
b.. Possess a thorough understanding of required project objectives and the
technical work/documentation needed to produce desired results
c.. Enjoy rapid change within a small-medium sized, entrepreneurial,
technology-driven culture
d.. Possess superior business intellect in addition to a technical intellect
e.. Exhibit high standards of performance for self and team as evidenced by
quality of personal work and team outputs
f.. Possess effective interpersonal and time management skills
g.. Have ability to develop and test production utilities
h.. Possess the ability to communicate issues and work in a team oriented
environment toward their resolution is critical to the success of this position
i.. Be hands-on and capable of executing rapidly as an individual as well as
a manager
j.. Must have 24x7 operations support experience
Responsibilities
a.. Responsibility will be in support of the Sybase database environment
b.. Supporting and maintaining ASE production support, stored procedures,
troubleshooting, system sizing, system integration, upgrades, platform
migration, and monitoring
c.. Proactively foster best practices with development groups and other users
d.. Will work with developers to identify and resolve potential production
impacting issues
e.. Will work to gain an understanding of business data requirements and, in
turn, integrate business vertical operational data needs into the physical
enterprise data model
f.. Participate in 24x7 DBA on-call rotation
g.. Extensive knowledge with Replication Technology (warm standby, MSA,
Mirror Activator, peer to peer and object level replication)
h.. Able to perform operational procedures and maintain records
i.. Familiar with creating and maintaining Sybase IQ environments
