Our client is seeking a Sr. Architect to join their team on an initial 6 -
12 month contract. This architect will assist the existing application
delivery team develop code and applications to pre-defined company
standards. These standards are already in place; going forward any new
development or enhancements to existing applications will follow determined
standards and guidelines.
The initial 2 - 3 months of the project will be to work with the current
enterprise architecture team to learn the company's standard. Once this
initial "training" period is done; the consultant will be released to the a
number of different projects to help enforce standards and guide the
development team. The applications delivery team works with both internal
corporate projects and external, customer facing applications. On top of the
technical skills needed for this role...a proper culture fit is just as
important. Our customer sees consultants as partners that want to join a
group and help make them better. If you are looking for a place to park for
a few months and make some money - this is not the place for you...
*Responsibilities: *
Extending a consistent approach to architecture in a *Java* /
*J2EE*applications environment. Experience working in an interactive /
agile
environment is very important for this position; as the customer is
transitioning their architecture and development to this environment.
Experience with ANT/MAVEN, SPRING, HIBERNATE, WEB SERVICES and STRUTS are
the critical needs for this project. A consultant who can answer the "why"
instead of just the "what" is critical for this role.
In addition to technical skills, strong communication skills are required. A
successful track record of architecting and deploying complex
*Java*applications requires effective communications with business
leaders through
all phases of the systems development lifecycle. Part of the candidate's
role is to identify areas where opportunities exist, facilitate
communication between the groups and suggest alternatives and mutually
agreeable solutions.
