Job Description: Operation Technician * Duties include but are not limited to; fault rectification, UMTS cell site optimization activities, adds & mods to cell sites including UMTS and 2G planned out of hours work. * Performing reactive maintenance out of office hours in an 'on call'' capacity and QA inspections on UMTS Sites for closeout and RTT verification. Minimum Required Skills / Competencies: * Ericsson RBS2000 (GSM) Ericsson RBS3000 (UMTS) series experience/certified. * Experience should be O&M based rather than purely installation based. * Knowledge of transmission system in particular T1, microwave and fiber optics. Experience of TDOA equipment an advantage * Responsible for maintaining the integrity of multiple Ericsson Base Station Controller (BSC), Mobile Switching Center (MSC), Ericsson Radio Network Controller (RNC), Alcatel Media Gateway (MGW) and Call Server (CS), Alcatel ATM and TDM Transport Equipment, Tellabs Titan 5500 DACC's and the numerous network elements they contain. * Responsibilities may include performing hardware installations, routine maintenance on Switching complex, interpreting reports, utilizing troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex system hardware/software problems, read and interpret circuit design records, install circuit wiring , knowledgeable with transport DS1 and DS3 test sets . * Assist Wireless Technicians and vendors with restoration activities when service impairments occur. * Execute engineering work orders. * Create DT for new cell sites and perform site modifications. * Perform other duties as assigned by management.
