Senior Oracle Database Admin
Location: MI (local Michigan candidates only)
Duration: 3 months
Rate: $50 per hour
Job Description:
Must have Oracle DBA Experience and demonstrated experience with quality
results - required Experience in configuring, installing, maintaining
and tuning Oracle databases on IBM AIX Platform. - required
Facets Data Model Knowledge preferred
Experience in tuning SQL queries - required
Duties:
Working independently within guidelines, manages databases, security and
access requirements.
Ensures completeness and integrity of testing, reporting, back-ups and
restores.
Designs and implements back-up, recovery, archiving and conversion
strategies and implementation.
Designs and develops logical and physical layers of various databases.
Utilizes logical model to ensure efficient and reliable database
performance.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups of
activities.
Assisting Creation and Monitoring of system performance and diagnostics.
Assists programmers with complex queries and has the ability to tune
queries to optimize performance.
Experience in creating and enforcing Database Administration standards
and procedures.
Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure minimum downtime.
Experience with database production support Provides technical
assistance and mentoring to others for developing conceptual, logical
and physical databases.
Manages and maintains data in all production and non-production
databases and replication servers.
Extensive creativity required across areas of expertise.
Migrate application programs and related systems to production and non
production environments
Required Skills: 5+ years of experience
A high proficiency level in the specific job related skill required:
Oracle required
Facets Data Model Knowledge preferred.
Experience in tuning data bases and debugging stored procedures required
Strong Interpersonal Skills required Strong Workgroup coordination and
vendor communication skills are required.
SDLC methodology required
Developing and executing test plans required
Strong Problem solving and analytical skills required
Testing and quality assurance techniques required Sybase ASE
preferred
Sybase Replication Server preferred
