Position: TERADATA DBA Consultant Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension Rate: Open $/hr AI Start Date: ASAP Positions: ONE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor, measure, and report database and system capacity based on workload analysis Determine backup system growth requirements Monitor system health through AWS's Monitor system performance through TDManager Monitor "packdisk" and "scandisk" activity Monitor backup system using NetVault Master for backup timing, contention, job failures, drive health Monitor database workload and performance using TDManager, TASM, Workload Analyzer, TDQM Identify and report AWS, node and disk health and performance issues Identify and report Database as well as backup system health and performance issues; propose resolution Implement solutions for database and backup issues per DBA guidelines Produce health and monitoring reports for system, database and backup Produce quarterly and on-request security auditing reports and remediate identified security vulnerabilities Analyze, recommend and implement Join Indexes, Compression, etc Create, maintain and document database accounts and requests Maintain Unix user ID's, groups, passwords Monitor, report and recommend resolution for data skew Monitor, resolve and report database locking Monitor and report spool and temp shortages Maintain Change Event repository Maintain DDL documents repository Measure and report the impact of Database environment change Respond to ad-hoc requests, questions, assist development and end user staff Monitor BAR performance, locks, etc. and fix issues Assist with coordination of upgrades Restore database objects as directed Assemble and run NetVault reports Re-allocate space per specifications QUALIFICATIONS: Need to be a Senior consultant with minimum of 8+ years Exp with TERADATA Kindly go through the position details and let me know if you have any consultants matching the skill set or would really appreciate if you can refer me some one with this skill set.
