Java/ JavaScript Developer with min 8+y and Banking exp Location: NYC need locals Duration: 12+ months Rate: 50/hr Client: Banking We are looking for a strong web developer with proven JavaScript development experience. This individual will design and build complex web-based systems used by sales people and clients. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: The Portal Framework team designs and develops web solutions for use both by employees and clients. The team supports and extends two major web sites. First is Sales Insight, our sales-facing web portal and the second is GS360, our client-facing web portal. Both sites are built upon the same Portal framework which is built, maintained, and extended by the Portal framework team. The Portal Team is responsible for creating and maintaining features for Sales Insight and GS360, and building services and tools that keep it running smoothly 24/7. This includes managing inbound market data feeds and services, publishing APIs and document management systems, external data feeds and a search engine. Documents and data are fed into a complex system of caching and matching systems that route content for display on the sites, and to numerous internal and external clients via e-mail alerts and outbound feeds. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Portal framework is written in Java, and uses many web-based technologies including Tomcat, Apache, JavaScript and AJAX. The Portal platform uses ExtJS as its primary JavaScript library, and custom Java components for streaming data from server to browser. A successful candidate will be able to build custom and generic JavaScript components extending the ExtJS product, and implement dynamic, rich and interactive components in Java using the Portal AJAX framework.
