High Level Job Description: Under direct supervision, assists in the analysis, design, programming, and modification of computer programs for software products and/or customer applications. Writes code and completes programming, testing, and debugging of applications. Finalizes forms, procedures, and documentation needed for installation and maintenance of application programs. May interface with marketing and users to add new or custom features to company products. Typically requires a technical degree in Computer Science or related discipline. 9 years of experience. Provide technical deliverables concerning the deployment of JAVA Runtime Environments (JREs) and Java Development Kits (JDKs) to Desktops and Servers. Partner with project teams to understand requirements and configure JREs to support JAVA based applications both Desktop Applications and Browser-based applications that contain JAVA applets. Determine deployment configuration, e.g. ¡V JRE Auto Update OFF Configure JAVA parameters for install Test JVM configuration w/o Silent Commands Test JVM with Silent install Commands - unit testing Test with a select number of applications, e.g. SAP XMII, Kronos, SAP CRM, Business Objects Test installs with applications to ensure applications work with version of JAVA Work with Enterprise Test Center to gain Certification for targeted applications and user Desktop configurations Submit Change and Enterprise Test Center certification request Required: Ø J2EE, Java, Jsp, JDK 1.5, 1.6, JRE 1.5, 1.6 Extensive experience implementing testing methodology of JDK / JRE upgrades and troubleshooting Ø Solid technical aptitude and customer facing skills Ø Broad understanding of Java/J2EE based technologies including JAVA Applets and JAVA Swing Ø Hands on development experience with the J2EE technology on one or more application servers like BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, and SAP NetWeaver Ø Experience deploying JAVA JRE's and JDK's to server and desktops Ø Experience managing multiple JRE's on the same Desktop Ø Past experience deploying a standardized JRE and JDK to all Desktops and/or servers within an enterprise Ø Strong analytical skills, Oral communication and written communication skills Ø Experience with the creation of packages on common platforms, i.e. Windows, AIX, HP/UX - Needed Ø 9+ years of experience with JAVA, J2EE, and object oriented programming Ø Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering Qualifying Questions 1.
