Position: UNIX / Solaris 10 Systems Administrator
Terms: 12m+ ***Shift: 8 hour shift within a flex band of 6am - 6pm / Saturday through Wednesday*** Compensation is dependent upon experience and education, but successful candidates can anticipate $32-35/hr Job Description: * Solaris 10 operating systems including: network troubleshooting; patching; mirroring root volumes; account management; managing secure shells; and implementing security measures. * Configuring DASD and tape devices that are fiber attached in a Storage Area Network (SAN). * SUN Cluster 3.2 software with an Oracle RAC implementation. * Veritas File and Volume Manager including installation of the software itself, as well as managing (creating, deleting and extending volumes and files systems) the disks that are both raw and cooked on both clustered and non-clustered servers. Build from scratch or upgrade the software (including but not limited to the operating system, clustering software, Veritas volume manager, and all third party ancillary software) on SUN servers that are either stand-alone or clustered to be used by DSAB's projects. Provide problem resolution that includes determining whether a hardware or software problem exists on a SUN server that is prohibiting the SUN server from either working at all or working at its optimum. Problems causing systems to be non-operational will require immediate resolution regardless of time of day or day of week. Provide UNIX support while Oracle is upgrading the Oracle software.
