Job Title:Windows System Admin Location: Redwood Shores,CA Duration 3+months Responsibilities: Deliver core Windows administration tasks including but not limited to: Large scale server deployments Load test for PC, Xbox, PS3 etc… game servers Provide metrics Provide recommendations for server sizing Work with software developers to configure server environments Weekend on-call support Project leadership on medium to large-scale projects Help design processes to insure 24/7 operations Collaborate with game development teams on game hosting solution Capacity planning / Load testing Bug fix / Troubleshoot hosting environment Project manage the deployment phase for game hosting (Windows Servers) Coordinate with security, site services and network engineering Deploy the game servers (projects range from 5 servers to 250 servers) Deploy server OS Deploy game code / tweak configuration Scripting – Batch, VBScript, Powershell Collaborate with game team on game certification process (I.E. xbox live cert) Maintain global online hosted game server infrastructure 500+ servers Requirements: BS Degree / MCSE certification or equivalent experience. Ability to multi-task, managing multiple tasks at one time; quickly and accurately shifting attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy. Strong organizational skills – ability to demonstrate a systematic approach in carrying out assignments, with the ability to prioritize tasks and document steps. Ability to accurately and consistently follow instructions delivered in an oral, written or diagram format while also providing feedback with a goal of constant improvement. Must be able to maintain composure and positive demeanor while dealing with stressful situations. Must be open to changing situations and opportunities and be willing to perform all tasks assigned without supervision. Outstanding customer service and interaction skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills 5+ years of hands-on experience with server applications in a Microsoft networked environment Experience automating Windows administrative tasks Familiarity with WMI High level of expertise in the following areas: Windows Server Networking Excellent knowledge of server hardware and problem solving skills. Some level of expertise with LAN network administration.
