The Database Architect/ Administrator will work as part of the Field Services Development team to support the update and maintenance of database structures related to mobile Smartphone applications used by the Field. Additionally, the Architect / Administrator will help drive the development of new functionality and software capabilities for the Field Sales organization by supporting their design, development, testing, and implementation. Work with business to translate user requirements into detailed system requirement specifications. Establish a close relationship with others in the IT workgroup to ensure that the business needs are understood and are being met / planned for appropriately. Act as a key participant and contributor in architecture and design sessions. Create technical design and architecture documents Present proposed design solutions to users and management in a timely, comprehensive, and understandable manner. Conduct unit-testing in accordance with industry best-practices and defined team processes Ensure compliance to database policies and procedures. Responsible for quality and delivery of advanced, integrated and diverse technical products, in schedule, within prescribed resource limits and in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards. Constantly seek ways to increase efficiency in the delivery of services, while maximizing our value to the business. Maintain competency in the technologies related to responsibilities. Manage multiple support and development tasks concurrently. Develop and maintain a broad theoretical understanding of current hardware and software technologies. Participate in troubleshooting initiatives for issues that arise. KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree in computer science, business or related field required. JOB EXPERIENCE: 5-8 years in Information Technology. Proven technical skills using any of the following technologies ¡V Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Import/ Export, SQL Loader, Tivoli Procedures/Triggers/Functions/Packages Experience with complex query development using SQL. Data Analysis Experience Participation in full project lifecycle implementations. SKILLS / COMPETENCIES: Must possess strong database and analytical skills. Proficiency in structured query language and PL/SQL. Database development experience with open database connectivity. Working knowledge of database maintenance tools. Able to adapt and respond quickly to changing situations. Strong decision making abilities and problem resolution skills. Strong communication skills both verbal and written with proven ability to effectively communicate to management. Ability to freely move throughout the facility, use of a keyboard and mouse, visually able to interact with personal computers.
