Location : Brookfield, WI Duration : 12+ Months Contract Pay rate : Open Project Description: Reason for need: Contractors will be taking over existing development activities and support activities for Beta Link supporting 60,000 desktops. *Manager is open to non local candidates as well. However, contractors will need to relocate at their own expense. Manager is NOT looking for: § Not looking for an Architect. § Bottom tier developers § Bad work ethic § Unstable work history Manager IS looking for: § *Looking for someone who is looking to work, be a team player and wants to Code. § *Decent work employment history (Stable) § *Contractors with real developmental skills Project summary and position overview: This position will carry out design and development tasks associated with multiple Wealth Management (Retail and Capital Markets) strategic initiatives. Projects include enhancements to existing revenue producing products, maintenance of existing products, integration efforts focusing on Thomson Reuters initiatives, integration with 3rd party applications or services and new product offerings. Essential day to day responsibilities: This role will receive directions from the team lead/mentor and will have latitude on how to perform the task. Essential day-to-day responsibilities include performing coding assignments, unit testing, ensuring development standards are being followed, and analyzing functional specifications to determine technical approach to software design/implementation, producing technical specifications and unit testing scripts, and participating in team code reviews and impact assessments. Other duties will include; Production support and subsequent defect research, root cause analysis and resolution. Assistance in technical and/or system documentation may be needed to aid support teams. Education: Bachelors Degree TOP Required Skills- Candidates to this position must already possess these skills: 1. Microsoft Developer 2. Visual Basic 6 3. 5 Years experience in Development Required skills: Minimum 5 years experience developing software with Microsoft Development Studios - focusing on Dev Studio 6. At least 4 years commercial experience with Microsoft Visual Basic 6. Other skills include XML, HTML, Object Orientated Design and Programming, Multi-Tier Application Architectures, Analysis and Design background, sound communication and technical documentation skills. Industry: Managers prefers Financial Optional skills: Experience with Crystal Reports, SQL Server, nUnit, Performance Engineering, Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), User Experience Design.
