EAD or GC Location : Kansas Rate : $40ph Duration ; 6 months minimum needs a system engineer/system administrator AIX/HPUX Most of the AIX systems are version 5.2, a few on 5.3 and a few on 4.3 Competencies Required: Scope of Work: IBM AIX Operating System knowledge along with HPUX. Must be able to load operating system, maintain NIM server. Experience communicating with executives. Knowledge of virtualization, LPARS, VIO server. System Engineer Skills - Typically 4 to 5 years of experience. Coordinates operational designs and develops support plans. Expert level understanding of an area of specialization and where work requires the application of advanced knowledge and concepts to resolve a wide range of issues. Responsible for the maintenance and operating efficiency for major production and development Mid-Range systems. Performs the installation of the operating system and ongoing maintenance. Provides technical guidance in the resolution of complex system related problems. Works with vendors to resolve hardware issues. Analyses user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues, provides network support for servers and monitors system and network performance.
