Support)*

The individual will work on a team that is responsible for *supporting* the
testing tools.  This person should have the ability to be able to install,
configure and support testing tools.  Role could also include custom
customization of the testing tools.  *Note:  This is NOT a QA/Tester role.
It is a Testing Tool Support Role*


*The analyst will support these existing tools:*

·         *QARun*

·         *QALoad*

·         *Silk Test – primary current functional testing tool*

·         *Silk Performer – primary current performance testing tool*

*The new strategic tools that Client Company wants the analyst to research
and help drive towards implementation are:*

·         *Rational Functional Tester (RFT)*

·         *Rational Performance Tester (RPT)*


*Tool Support*



The Performance Tool Support Team’s primary responsibility is to:

   - Provide internal support for select performance tools supported by
   Service Management and used by both Service Management and throughout
   Systems.
   - Responsible for entire lifecycle including sun setting operations.
   - Provides evaluation to determine overlap or gap analysis.
   - Provide a common point of contact with software vendors.
   - Gathers requirements from end users, conducts product search and
   evaluations.
   - Own budgetary responsibility for purchase and maintenance.
   - Open and track support issues with vendor support.
   - Track and request feature enhancements for existing performance
   products.
   - Coordinates deployment, training and documentation for performance
   tools.
   - Supports Client Company written tools designed for specific performance
   related tasks.
   - Support for “Open Source” freeware will be limited to products already
   supported by a vendor and included as part of a purchased package.
