Position: JAVA/C++ PROGRAMMER Consultant Location: NYC (in person after telephonic at OWN EXPENSES) Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension Rate: BEST $/hr AI Start Date: ASAP Positions: One Job Responsibilities: Requirements analysis and system design Development, enhancement of middle office systems and production support Interacting with users and other technology groups to understand current & future requirements General Experience Requirements: 4+ years of expertise developing Java Applications, including server-side experience. Experience programming in a real-time high-volume transaction processing environment An understanding of multi-threading concepts as applied to Java Object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) Experience with Unix/Linux Shell Scripting and Perl Strong SQL programming skills including SQL performance & tuning. Familiarity with Sybase preferred. Financial industry experience is a must. Someone with business knowledge of Equities, Fixed Income and Futures transaction processing and products The candidate should be motivated to work and excited to learn about the business and enjoy working in a team environment both seeking and offering help to others. Must be able to manage both time and workload autonomously The candidate should also have strong communication and teamwork to be able to work effectively in a global environment.
