Experience in Sybase DBA activities but should not be hard core DBA (L2, L3 support) b. Extensive experience in Sybase development activities c. Understand Sybase indexes d. Understand Sybase storage architecture, db level to table level e. Can read query plans in minute details f. Can compare two query plans using all parameters, viz. index selection, logical io, physical io, sql server elapsed time, cpu time, etc. g. Can tweak optimizer parameters to choose alternate plans h. Understands 'abstract query plans' i. Understands different optimization goals in ASE 15. j.
